Civil engineers are the real creators of modern world. Civil engineering deals with design and construction of the things that we need to function efficiently as a society. This includes roads, bridges, and many other integral parts of the community.In essence, civil engineering may be regarded as the profession that makes the world a more agreeable place in which to live.

Department of civil engineering working with a motivation of developing professional and personal skills of students,which facilitate them to perform magnificently as an eminent engineer in the society. Department provides platform to showcase and sharpen student's talents through a variety of events and activities planned throughout four years, for overall development of students personalities.

Course Details

  • If you want a government job by doing diploma in engineering then a diploma in civil engineering will be the best option. One can become JUNIOR ENGINEER at state or central government.

  • One can appear for a SSC examination, takes place every year.

  • You can also appear for your state public service exam.

  • In the above two cases vacancies for civil candidates are always more than for mechanical or electrical engineers.

  • One can also appear for PSUs, but here the vacancies for mechanical or electrical are more than for civil.

  • Gokila Devi from  2nd CIVIL paricipated and won THIRD prize in Paper Presented organized by Chandy Polytechnic College.

  • Ganeshamoorthy from 3rd CIVIL won FIrst Prize in Short Film Competition held at Scadd Engineering College.

  • 2 Batches of 4 students  presented  papers in Lakshmi Ammal Polytechnic College College , Kovilpatti.

  • Mahesh M presented a paper in Sankar Polytechnic College.

  • 4 teams from our Department showcased their talents in RECT Carnival by presenting 4 different projects.

  • A batch of 6 members had registered their names in Smart India Hackathon.

Placements

  • Muthuraj R and Saravanan K got placed in ALLWIN BUIlDERS, Vallioor as Site Engineers.

  • Nithish Kumar D and Sudharson A was recruited by TVS Group of Companies , Chennai as Inventory Clerk.
